With E-Books becoming more popular everyday, the question "Will Real Books be a Thing of the Past?" has been on my mind for a while.
Don't get me wrong. I think E-Books are great and they have their place, but I love reading real books. There's nothing more satisfying to me than curling up on the sofa and turning the pages of a book that I'm currently reading.
I don't know why, but the actual process of having to flip to the next page to find out what happens next is so very relaxing to me.
I've been an avid reader since I was a child. There's nothing like a good book to set your imagination on fire! I consider myself very lucky to have learned that at such an early age.
I know that I can read many books that are available in electronic form right now, but, for some reason, I just don't get the satisfaction like I do with a real book. Maybe it's the feel of a real book or the act of having to physically turn a real page. Maybe it's the feel or act of actually placing a real bookmark at my stopping place so that I can continue the next day. Maybe I'm just getting old and set in my ways...
I think the main reason I like real books better is that it brings back many fond memories from my childhood which is comforting in this fast paced world.
Will real books be a thing of the past? Perhaps, but probably not in my lifetime. That's a very comforting thought for me!
